Time is a robber
stealing our hours away.
No gun nor rope nor bars
to slow him down.
The moment nears when we shall part.
But I bid unto you, dear girl,
we shall meet again
when the sun is high
or the stars are brightly shining.
This is not the end.
Let yourself grieve and mourn.
There will be happiness that follows.
And on those days that go by
When you're missing me, go ahead and cry.
Just as I wade through my own stream of sadness whilst I pen these very words.
Know this, dearest angel,
You shall never be forgotten.
You've been my savior.
You were the branch that pulled me
From the quicksand;
The breath that pushed
Back into my dying lungs.
I will leave soon.
Pack up all my photos and robes,
all my memories and books
and fly away from you.
Five thousand miles away.
And when my suitcase has boarded the plane
while I'm walking to my long sought after happiness,
I hope you know that I will be
riping apart inside
as I walk away from
my best friend

aimed with angry art,
words can sting like all things
but it's silence that breaks the heart

Re: This Is Not Good-Bye
This makes me sad. I haven't seen her since this was written. When I came back to North Carolina I was told she moved to Arizona. I hope I see her again. I don't even know if she had a chance to read this poem I wrote for her. Its been nine years.
