Through It All

Post by carndo » Tue Oct 08, 2019 8:23 pm

Illuminations
alterations
subucations of the mind
and yet through it all
it doesn't matter
or does it?
it's up to the individual
but the effort is worth it
it does have one thinking
and finding somehow where it leads to

Old Green Turtle

Post by carndo » Tue Oct 08, 2019 8:24 pm

that old green turtle
snapping at anything
that comes around
fish, frog or human
baring his snout
through the mud
in the nearby pond
hissing like an alligator
that comes into his territory
so watch out
otherwise you might lose a toe
as you stumble through the day

Freedom's Gate

Post by carndo » Wed Oct 09, 2019 12:26 pm

to touch that freedom's gate
that redemption
in which you feel
that core
completely into your soul
for some it's a release
for some it's remembrance
for those many past sins
you hear it clearly
and it rocks you
startles you
and wakes you
knowing that it's to come
whether you're prepared for it
or not
so come freedom's gate
my eyes are wide open

Longing For That Rhythm

Post by carndo » Fri Oct 11, 2019 2:25 pm

longing for that rhythm
lost long ago
for some ungodly reason
yet as I look at it
I wasn't exactly
at the right place
nor the right time
but that's life for ya
you never know
what's exactly ahead
in this crazy, mixed up world
so I keep plodding along
day by day
making up my own rules
as I move along
winging it as I can
shine on you crazy diamond

Something Got Lost

Post by carndo » Sat Oct 19, 2019 3:03 pm

driven within that moment
where something got lost
yet within that second
visions written beyond the horizon
selected in that inkling of hope
messages in the hour
held only in those values
lost in the distance
winter reflections
with the leaving of fall
shimmering remains
fragments within the emptiness
yet in the deep
the abstraction remains

Left Out In The Open

Post by carndo » Sat Oct 19, 2019 3:04 pm

reasons
for some
left out in the open
why?
I don't really know
yet it doesn't matter
everyone has their our lives
and have to follow their own path
for whatever reason
and yet
something was left in the shadows
where the inkling of hope
somehow still stands

Clockwork

Post by carndo » Mon Oct 21, 2019 11:37 am

clock work
clicking moment to moment
within those seconds of time
I hear them
within the rhythms of my mind
and yet
the hours slowly pass by
tick... tick.... tick
like sand in an hourglass
slowly filtering down
noon is approaching
and for some reason
I've accomplished
absolutely nothing

Numbness

Post by carndo » Mon Oct 21, 2019 11:38 am

numbness of my eyes
that creeping tiredness
where the tears flow
and I can't seem to wake
why?
too many hours up the following morning
and a dream that I can't make any sense of
so I'm not shaking that moment
and the void touches me deeply
so my eyes are screeching completely
yet somehow I'll continue
although my needs
aren't quite
what I need
at the moment

Dandelions In The Grass

Post by carndo » Tue Oct 22, 2019 11:52 am

dandelions in the grass
oaks that rise into the sky
a stream that flows
where the cool water
touches the soul
a cool breeze
flows with a softness
that simply makes one smile
seasons that are warm
makes me realise
that nothing in this world
needs to be taken for granted
that's why we were put here
to be her caretakers
for if we take care of her
she will take care of us
for the rest of our lives

Truth

Post by carndo » Sun Nov 17, 2019 9:41 am

In the blackest night
not a single star shines
and yet
within that silence
wisdom somehow
finds its place
words have no meaning
without the honor
set before them
let truth set you free
for life has its burdens
but certain paths
revere its way

In The Season

Post by carndo » Sun Nov 17, 2019 9:42 am

howling at the moon
where in the season
the year of the wolf
has come to pass
yearning for freedom
to travel in the wild
to sink their teeth
within that provocation
held in the woods
where adventure awaits
natural surroundings
find that single moment

Read Between The Lines

Post by carndo » Sun Nov 17, 2019 9:44 am

to read between the lines
that juxtation
that has many simply confused
where everything is blurred
and not much makes sense
which has everyone up in the air
in that mismatch
of who knows what
so you stay tuned
until the mixup
is cleared up
and everyone can
start over again

Touching The Heart

Post by carndo » Sun Nov 17, 2019 9:45 am

do ya wanna scream?

rising up on the horizon
touching the heart
making it go pita-pat

finding that romance
which reaches the stars

kissing those lips
touching those needs
reminding one
that life needs to be lived
never settling for second best

read between the lines
fulfilling those hopes and dreams

those sensual times
felt in prime
one heart beat at a time

On Halloween's Turning Moon

Post by carndo » Sun Nov 17, 2019 9:46 am

So turns the moon

against a late October sky

shadowing the eve of harvest

with a sense of uncertainty

falling across each and every

burdened shoulder below

'Tis evening's brow

that touches within that full moon

and the veil approaches

when the dead arise again

shadows smile and grin

when the ghosts come out and play

goblins sing

and the ghouls dance

while chaos finds its way

if you listen

you'll hear a fiddle in the distance

some poor soul

has lost their love

so they pine diswayed

where is Jack

that leads this tainted crowd?

over on the hill

with patchwork Jill

crooning with the ravens

serendipity

just another commodity sold

to appease the witching hour

and the demons that wander

courting the dappled light

shadows crave the power

of nothingness

whilst the silence of heart

seemingly echoes

within the eeriness

of the ravens call

destiny and fate

eternally wrangled

in their own oblivious fight

tumble onward

into an unforgiving future

leaving the mood to linger

as an omen

and Jill just smiles

absorbing all the mischief

of the moment.

Move Forward

Post by carndo » Sun Nov 17, 2019 9:48 am

it's time to say goodbye
to the past
move forward
instead of looking backward
reflections paid
reflections made
and yet
I don't know what I'm looking at
photographs and mirrors of a broken soul
yea my mistakes made me stronger
and no
I don't regret them
it's who I am
if I changed them
I would change me
and yet
I like who I am
so the road before me
somehow continues on
