Showing Me My Smile - A Sonnet

Post by Jadynara » Tue Aug 24, 2010 9:11 am

I love the way you make me feel pretty
On days when I am not sure of myself
I know you'd never deign to show my pity
The times my self-esteem's up on the shelf

Instead you take the time to help me see
The beauty that surrounds me in the world
And set the happy hidden in me free
Emotions deep within me being swirled

I've come to love you for being this way
For showing me that I'm important still
For brightening my each and every day
And never trying to control my will

So sit and talk with me for just a while
Today I need your help finding my smile

For someone special who has taken to lighting up my life on a daily basis. Thank you.

I'd have to agree with bags. Spot on.

If I changed anything I have done in my life I wouldn't be me. Personally, I kinda like me. I'm an asshole, but I'm my kind of asshole.

Oh thanks Jim. By the way, thanks for chasing Terry back to the pages, you did it with wonderful timing.
