Time To Fly

Post by The Ravyn » Sat Jan 18, 2003 3:10 pm

ebon wings furled
clipped, tethered
she waits in the darkness
of her thought

soon to take flight
beside the falcon
long journey into
the land of shadows

the mistress of silver
places about her neck
an emblem of hope
of peace for the future

the wolf howls
strong encouragement
lending strength and wisdom
for the trials ahead

wings unfurled at last
the west wind in her eyes
fear and misgivings
but her duty clear

taking the hand
of the mistress of silver
kisses her cheek
and vows to keep hope

turning to the wolf
she smiles as she hugs him
champion, greatheart
her tears fall free

at last she is ready
places her hand in
the hand of the falcon
'my love, tis time to fly'

*s* ty heinzs running wolf and jr ... flight isn't really scheduled until after next weekend ... and from there we shall see if we soar ... or if we crash back to earth in a painful heap ... wish us luck ... if you will

Hello Ravyn, "Time To Fly" seems locked and loaded with all that's necessary for a successful flight. I'll toss in a wish for much more than luck. Take Care

And if you should crash and burn, rise up like the legendary Phoenix to reclaim your birthright!

Sending you all my "good vibes".

Absolutely breath-taking, Jenn!! Fly high and freely, ebon bird of color!!! And if you ever need to rest your wings, you are welcome to regain your strength here, always, in my life!! I believe even the eagles will furl their wings at your passage!!

This a well written piece, nice to read. When the wolf appears to have fallen into the background, the poet's optimistic mood is complete and confirmed by:

The vision had me hooked. Could easily see it all...
"Born into
these crooked ways.
I never even asked to come,
so now I'm living in the days.
I struggle and fight
to stay alive,
hoping that one day
I earn my chance to die..."
