The Perfection That is Us II

<b>S</b>o young, so naïve- I was
<b>E</b>verything you didn’t need. My
<b>V</b>irgin body, my virgin mind would
<b>E</b>ventually be our demise.
<b>N</b>o hard feelings, I just wasn’t ready
<b>T</b>o be whatever it was you needed then
<b>E</b>ven though I had wanted to
<b>E</b>ven though I had tried
<b>N</b>aivety took some time to heal

<b>Y</b>ears passed til we met once more, and
<b>E</b>xcitedly we jumped right in again
<b>A</b>gainst the odds- and I was
<b>R</b>ediscovered and re-released
<b>S</b>o quickly that

<b>I</b> abandoned hope- all hope for our future
<b>N</b>ever giving it another chance

<b>T</b>il now.
<b>H</b>ow love found us again so
<b>E</b>asily, I’ll never know, but I like to think that

<b>M</b>aybe we were just meant to be-
<b>A</b>nd we just didn’t see it then, so we
<b>K</b>ept our distance. But,
<b>I</b>'m here to tell you that I see it now.
<b>N</b>ow I know, I am your other half, and I will never let you
<b>G</b>o again…

<b>I</b>

<b>L</b>
<b>O</b>
<b>V</b>
<b>E</b>

<b>Y</b>
<b>O</b>
<b>U</b>

I think you hit the poetic nail right on the acrostic head with this one Erika. Very nicely penned and loving reminisce of the transformation of a girl into a woman.

I was particularly struck by the lines
I just wasn’t ready
To be whatever it was you needed then
few are and fewer still take a second chance and 17years isn't that long in comparison to a lifetime

kudos,

ET

Indeed, third times the charm and did you know that three is the most magical of numbers. The number of creation itself?

Long before the Catholic church developed the concept of trinity, the world inclduing early christians believed that man + woman + child were the elements of both the divine and life.

The mysogynysts removed the feminine from the equation and you can see what a mess they made of it.

Three is also the basis of the threefold law in wicca and many charms, spells are repeated three times, etc.

Apologys for the trivia facts, just wanted to let you know that I'm rooting for ya and wish you well (three times of course) as in hip hip hooray.

I'm a sucker for true love (who woulda guessed)

Keep yer chin up kiddo.

The matrix has all sorts of philosophical underpinnings in it's script. I used to manage a philosophy/religion community on the web and it was discussed in detail.

I won't hijack the thread with the details but I do believe in intuition and the subconscious minds ability to steer us through the maze of reality (small r). Sometimes symbols or in your case a costume represent more then the superficial.

Many scholars now invest the subconscious and the bi-cameral mind with the power to shape reality as we know it. Extraordinary or original thought was once considered the mark of a prophet and people once commonly believed that subconsicous originated thought was the gods speaking to them and through them. All before the mind became occupyed 24/7 with things like creating and obeying laws and counting wealth, of course.

But here I digress, as I promised, I would not.

Suffice to say Trinity is a cool choice for Halloween

Nah I wouldn't call it luck... it's more like perseverance...
