When Forever Is Never (And Built On A Lie) - [A Villanelle]

Post by mdmorash » Fri Jul 30, 2004 10:39 am

When forever is never and built on a lie.
And a pledge is a curse as it’s built on deceit.
While the sun is a cloud in an ominous sky.

When all of your dreaming is now lost and awry.
You’re feeling the burden as you’re smothered complete.
When forever is never and built on a lie.

The rain is now falling though you struggle to try.
To take back your reason from a darkening street.
While the sun is a cloud in an ominous sky.

There’s giving and taking. Only one makes you cry.
The answers you’re given leave the mark of defeat.
When forever is never and built on a lie.

The darkness consumes you. To yourself you must lie.
And try to convince you that you’ve never been beat.
While the sun is a cloud in an ominous sky.

The ending is two fold, it’s your choice what to try.
The truth is the first step to rekindle your heat.
When forever is never and built on a lie.
While the sun is a cloud in an ominous sky.

Thank you all very much.
Humor is the only test of gravity, and gravity of humor; for a subject which will not bear raillery is suspicious, and a jest which will not bear serious examination is false wit.

Aristotle (384 BC - 322 BC)

How poor are they who have not patience! What wound did ever heal but by degrees.
-- William Shakespeare
