is a life earned
fragile of mind and spirit
A technicality perhaps none the less
wouldn't you call it reality?
where does it go?
from where has it came?
is it here and now?
a stop, a visit?
I couldn't say,
well, not for certain anyway
what is here?
just where is there?
and are there directions in between?
I've been next door and tried the wine
to be right where I am,
over here!
sad, it seems
a casualty of sorts
given every chance to succeed
and when it's down to the wire
you never get what you need.
the stars,
they twinkle
and the moon?
still hung
the planets in their places
and I here with you
in a metropolitan utopia
a concrete zoo
my how time gets away from you
so many years gone past
are we hoping to find?
or seeking to know?
the battles we have raised and those who are lost
throw down the spears and cast off the shields
the war is long over now
don't be afraid to come home
to the real battlefield.

Re: A Life Lived...
This might get more attention in the "general poetry" forum. Feel free to post a second copy there.
An' it harm none, do what ye will. Blessed Be.
