Leaving for Amsterdam

Post by bags123 » Wed Apr 03, 2013 7:33 am

My lovely wife and I will be travelling to Amsterdam on Friday,...and returning a couple weeks later for vacation. Hope you all keep it together while I'm gone

You behave yourself while in Amsterdam. I'll make sure your room remains clean while you're gone. I'm sure the Texan wouldn't mind doing extra maid duties. :hello:

Have a safe trip my friend. :hello:
Take me back, so far back, adjust this fate. Afeared lately of pen, in abscence of light. The fear I might stumble upon a plagiarized soul. Wipe this dark slate clean, regain my thought. Add the words that rekindle my depth of soul.

Excellent time so far. Putin was in Amsterdam yesterday with the Queen
Celebrating the reopening of the Dutch Hermitage museum. One whole section
Of the city was closed to any gay activists woe be was here, which resulted
In many demonstrations against Putin all over the city. My wife and
I happily participated.

We got back last night. Excellent trip. Can't wait to go over again sometime. A very old city,...with a very young vibe going on. I had a hard time keeping up
at times,...but it all worked in the end. Unfortunately,..they had a cold snap the week before we arrived, so the tulips at Keukenoffen we barely above ground. Travelled by train to Harlingen Haven (about 3 hours away from Amsterdam) and enjoyed it throughly. The Dutch were very accomodating,...and I'd highly recommend anyone who's thought of going to take the plunge.

I'm guessing you didn't get free Heinekens on a tour; but I hope you had some real dutch apple pie with a slice of gouda or edam cheese. How far outside Amsterdam did you get?

Any pics?

We travelled about 3 hours by train to Harlingen Haven where my fathers family originated from. Did that up and back in one day. Had all kinds of Dutch delicacies while there, even some pastry. The cheese is fabulous by the way. Took lots of pictures,...but I really don't do a lot of personal picture posting on the internet. I believe that traps your soul eternally in some digital non-material form, and I'd prefer it goes to Heaven where it belongs. :hello:

Did you behave yourself, Mister.. Well did you.. And before you lie, you should know I had a chit chat with the Amsterdam police. :book:
