Soul Speak

Post by CatieRose » Sat Oct 13, 2012 2:17 pm

I have been the shadow...
in varying aspects,
known it deeply,
wore it under my skin,
claimed it discreetly,
in quiet respects
of my own.

I watched it
slithering behind
many joyful experiences
of unaware, naive
mankind.

I have
experienced the worst
made each wry mistake
(heaven knows),
and felt pure
heartbreak.

I have experienced
those petty dishonesty’s,
and watched them escalate
into a mountain of
sheer hate.

I've lived
in the shadow of trust,
in the grey crevice of your smile,
known the shadow of dust
your best intentions,
and walked your
darkest mile.

The shadows stole
and brought me humility,
"Conviction!" cast upon
the soul in stress,
and with direction,
I confess,
the shadows
have taken
their toll.

Bring me light.

May peace be a shroud of light that entombs you.
Good Poem.
