Playing With Words
I found a word inside my head.
It would not go away.
It pounced into my life,
Where I watched it purr and play.
It wrapped its fur around my feet,
And then around my pen.
And now it feels quite welcome,
To bring her friends right in.
So when a word,
Or worlds of words,
Stick in your mind and stay,
Give them a home in a
Story or poem,
And let them loose to play.
It would not go away.
It pounced into my life,
Where I watched it purr and play.
It wrapped its fur around my feet,
And then around my pen.
And now it feels quite welcome,
To bring her friends right in.
So when a word,
Or worlds of words,
Stick in your mind and stay,
Give them a home in a
Story or poem,
And let them loose to play.

Re: Playing With Words
Thank you both for your comments. By the way, in the third stanza, that should be "your mind", not "our mind." After it's posted, I don't know how to edit it. Very new here, still trying to figure out how the Smilies work. When I press on one, all I get is writing. And I tried to center my poem, but I got writing on that, too. I assumed if I just pressed on it, that it would center my poem. Is there a place that shows how to use these things?

Re: Playing With Words
Best way to learn is trial and error... lol.
the php program uses "[]" brackets instead of the html "<>" for commands. Above the composing window are the tabs for the commands available for that window. To center text you would type and then enter whatever text you want centered. At the end of that you would type and centering would stop. Same for all the other commands.
In order for me to present you with the code I had to put it into "code" brackets, otherwise it would have executed the command... lol.
Cheers!

Code: Select all

Re: Playing With Words
Thanks, goldenrod, your comment means a lot to me. You have a two month head start on me, but us newbees ought to stick together. I want to read your poems, among others on this site and get to know all of you. Now I have to figure out where your poems are? I'm still a lot lost here. I have always had a poor sense of direction! LOL.
