A Raven Escapes

A dark night
A silent tear
You thought you had won
Nay, tis you who should tremble with fear
A tear of anger, not of pain
That slides so gently
Merging with the gentle rain
My spirit you have tried to break
To keep me grounded to do your will
Now its time for the raven to escape
As you hear her evil shrill
The cage she learned to open
In the stillness of the night
As you lay sleeping
Never once knowing of your plight
She knew the day would come
When she was the victor of your soul
As you lay dreaming
The evil tides have started to roll
Now it is you
Who shall be trapped with fear
Your beautiful bird has escaped
But flies over you so near
She wants to watch your pain
Watch your silent tears
As you realize your worse nightmare
Your heart feels the fear
The fear of the dark night
The fear of the unknown
Your soul will be the cost
For the very thing you tried to own
A creature that once was caged
Now flies freely on her own
