Happy Nobody

Post by poeticpiers reborn » Thu Aug 23, 2012 11:44 am

Happy Nobody.

Casean sonnet

Parameters

Iambic tetrameter
Rhyme pattern
A A B C C B D D E F F E G G.

I have no wealth or property.
To give men cause to envy me
Nor do I envy anyone
I earn my crust as best I may
Do something different every day.
Sleep peacefully when day is done.
Though other men strive for success.
I’m not ambitious. I confess
I shirk responsibility.
I decided long ago.
To drift along, go with the flow.
I live my life completely free.
From worry and anxiety.
Happy to be a nobody.

Incognito is the way to die
without eulogies that always lie!
Best to depart without that name
never mentioned before we came.

The world is largely populated by nobodies.
Happy to be anonymous.
and some so called celebrities.
Whom I regard as ludicrous.
Yet each of us is quite unique.
And each of us will leave some trace.
Which can be found by those who seek.
Diligently for solace.
Remembering those that have gone.
Flying free towards the light.
Recalling things that they have done.
Before they gained the power of flight.
Nobodies know a great deal more
Than what they're given credit for
