Moment of Clarity (A Glosa)

Post by Jadynara » Fri Apr 13, 2012 10:48 pm

That love costs all we are
And will ever be
Yet it is only love
Which sets us free
(Maya Angelou, Touched by an Angel)

Paid the price of penance
Confessions of my sins to you
The window stands open
A woman's soul laid bare to view
Each transgression a tribute
To love that's gone too far
It's become the focal point
Of a creative obsession
A set of lyrics blaring in the car
That love costs all we are

There's a deep sense of satisfaction
As the words flow from my soul
A knowledge flooding through the heart
Of woman in a complex role
Sunlight through the rain creates
A crystalline type of clarity
The way to live and love is all around
If we would take a simple lesson
The world itself is full of beauty
And will ever be.

Tides of emotion wash back and forth
The heart seeks what it can not find
Resting on the crests of waves
The swells it does not seem to mind
This flood has conquered reason
While the sun smiles on from up above
He is the centerpiece of adoration
The source of lost discretion
His words touch her, a gentle shove
Yet it is only love

Expressed in the most primal ways
A penetration, a sweet release
A strangely cosmic connection
Which grants each person peace
The heart knows the way you see
To grow within another's life
To find that fabled better half
It's only love, from me to you and you to me
Which sets us free.
So we're lost, at least we've found each other. Take my hand, if we can't find our way out of the dark, we can make our own light. - Nicole M. Goretzke 2011
