When You Smile At Me (A Rondel)

Post by Shane » Thu Jun 30, 2005 5:29 am

When you smile at me
The pain just drifts away
My love will show the way
and my heart beats with glee

I'm happy as can be
It's a bright fun day
When you smile at me
The pain just drifts away

Dear Lord, hear my plea!
Please keep the wolves at bay
My clouds were all dark grey
A sadness I decree
But when you smile at me
The pain just drifts away

Thanks Shane. Sometimes we need poems bumped so we get the "new post" icon on the forum index page... I had seen this one but not commented, not being too familiar with the rondel form.

Someday this forum will be reorganized... but for now it gets only a modicum of traffic.

Fair dinkum poem, Shane!

Thanks Heinz

As far as I know the most common rhyme scheme is: ABba abAB abbaAB.

But I don't know exactly how many syllables per line, ........ummmm ....so I just went with what seemed to feel good at the time
