The Terzanelle (pronounced tur-zuh-nell) is a combination of the French forms Terza Rima and Villainelle, where the second line of a stanza is repeated as the third line of the following stanza. It's characteristics include repeating triplets rather than quattrains in the body, with a concluding quattrain. The Terzanelle has two alternate forms of endings, so make sure to look at them closely to see which one might be best for you.

Revealing Me
As the mascara teardrops begun to fall
because there was no right nor wrong
open-eyed you wanted to see it all
Void of reason to continue on
You poked and fancied at my tears
because there was no right nor wrong
Embedding withing me a life long fear
to never let another soul inside
you poked and fancied at my tears
Makeup washed away to shatter all my pride
crying from the darkness of your grin
to never let another soul inside
Cold hearted my future was shaped by then
I bled all my truths to your lies
crying from the darkness of your grin
Hating you for how you laughed at my cries
as the mascara teardrops begun to fall
I bled all my truths to your lies
Open-eyed you wanted to see it all

A classic form presented professionally. Unusual theme but well suited to the form Ivor aka poeticpiers

Re: The Terzanelle (Terza Rima and Villainelle)
I remember this wasn't that difficult when I first wrote it. But if I were to do one now I'm sure I would struggle with it. I'd really love to get back into practicing all the different forms of poetry. any suggestions on where to start?
