Bagsonian Vent-a-meter

Post by bags123 » Sat Jan 31, 2004 8:27 am

This interesting poetic form is distinguished by stanza's of indeterminable length which often incorporate forced rhyme, and rhythm. It is thought
to have first been used in one of the dormitories of Boston University towards the end of 1971 by students who were revolting. Similar in many respects to I-Am-A-Dick-Head-am-meter. This unflowing form with erratic cadence, and questionable poetic merit, has been known to be often used
in Boston's Pizza parlors, where it was often written on greasy napkins.

It usually follows a pattern of
A-N-T-S
I-N
Y-O-U-R
P-A-N-T-S

rhyme scheme, and should be totally avoided by anyone who seriously considers themselves a poet.

this form does exhibit a singular merit in the strong visual and imagery it evokes, particularly when it is successfully fufilling it's required second stanza form of what's called "mixed up feet"

Very insightful Deb,....mixed up feet should have been included as one of this forms inherent qualities. Thank you for the additional clarification.

So how's life at Harvard these days Professor Deb? I actually heard a rumor that you were starring in a new variety show with the infamous Preston the potentate.

Quick definitions (potentate)

noun: a ruler who is unconstrained by law

i am unsure as to how this applies to my former co-host (who, by the way, had me fired in a most underhanded and sneaky manner)

he rules NOTHING!! ---

gerry----perhaps you meant POTATO HEAD?

What would you know about dignity
I only know that its a worthless pursuit. Robert E. Lee, one of my personal hero's by the by,.....said, " Sometimes there is more dignity in losing than there is in winning". I tend to agree with him
