Crystal Teardrops

Fragility is a precious jewel
Encased in platinum sorrows
And fourteen carat desolation;
My soul's keepsakes shimmer
In eyes that speak a prophecy
Of my own life's difficulties
For the times which lay ahead;
Hurt marks an upcoming era

Symbols of my vulnerability,
The breakable gems flow freely
Leaving glistening paths to trace
All the tumultuous feelings inside
Pour into genuine crystal teardrops;
Frail as they appear extrinsically,
Dark emotions create an abode
Hiding in familiar icy bitterness

When the teardrops fall away,
Escape leads me to self destruction;
As they land with noticeable splashes
My every dream shatters completely
Like the brittle stone they mimicked;
There is no more left of me here,
Since my soul is long past deceased
But I have only began to mourn.
