Winner: Poem of the Week: November 2, 2008
Dresden Dolls
by thief of dreams
This night I shed
The incarceration of life
In dream I run free
We dance around the burning forest
The carnival trailers aglow
The piano player
We all fell in love with
Throws back her head
In triumph
And sings freely
The clown with melting face paint
Begins to drum along
From a darkened corner of the tent
The music moving through the night
A soul of its own
Moving everyone to dance
Kiss
Fall in love with freedom
No insecurities
No worries
Nothing but beautiful
This night I lived
But in dream
Wishing to never wake
