April 2008 Poet of the Month: C.R. Ebowski

Post by heinzs » Thu May 01, 2008 8:26 pm

I'm a bit behind on this, but I think the nominee deserves the title, even if it comes a bit late.

Congratulations to C.R. Ebowski, Poetry Pages Poet of the Month for April, 2008!!

unbreakable

There are questions I ask
Exploring me I see
You are what I desire

Anger quickens my blood
Hating the competition
An inexcusable me

The sick bitch must die
Beating you down
A right she gave up

And now I have you
A soul I am gracious for
A friend I can trust

We are together again
Against expectations
Only wanting love

We are unbreakable

Darkness

Darkness surrounds me in the room
My heart beat is smothered by footsteps
In a room built for a child
Pink dolls whose mouths are sown shut
Eyes blackened from the night
Unable to provide comfort to me
I am completely alone
Another night of sadness
Heaven had failed me again
He is here
Wanting me
Drunk and angry
The tears never hit my pillow
And not a sound escapes my lips
It is easier this way
Pretend like the Barbie dolls on the shelf
Pray he passes out before he finishes
But no luck this time
Forever will the darkness surround me

memorable me

I wish my grand piano would be my computer keyboard,
I could play the song and never have to write a word.
The melody would carry the feeling that I have tried to write
Never getting it quit right, like the chorus
Chanting a rhythm that embraces the love and pain
Shedding the past and forging a future
In a melody written for my hope that exists now
No matter how many chords and melodies I perform
I still tremble on stage too scared to scream aloud
Praying the melody echoes the beat of my heart
Hands outstretched screaming, save me from this life
Again fictitious applauds bust from the seams
Fans screaming, begging for a life as perfect as this
And they can have every waking moment of it
So tonight my grand piano is my computer keyboard
Writing the last review of a memorable me

For You

Collapsed world
Caved in life
Buried soul
Living
Breathing
If only
For a minute
One second
Screaming
I love you
Look damn it
Listen
Never happened
Just another day
Living life
Hiding emotions
Ignoring society
Dying in life
Crying
Blood tears
For love
For life
For you

Constraints

I sit forth watching and waiting,
Seeing if all falls through.
I sit forth wanting every moment
To figure out what to do.

My mind races faster and faster
Only to find out that there is no end.
Can my body hold the mold?
Or will the night ascend?

Who could have guessed?
That I could have gotten into this mess?
Who could have guessed?
The secret I could not confess?

Memories are my nightmares
And life is the destruction of me.
Can anyone understand my constraints?
Can anyone see inside of me?

C.R. well deserved
Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance. ~Carl Sandburg

The role of the writer is not to say what we can all say, but what we are unable to say
My ideas usually come not at the desk writing but in the midst of living. anias nin

you write from the depths of your soul where none would dare to go.
