Silk Scars

The worms consume
greenery
fabric
flesh…
it's all the same to them
…nourishment

The hardness of day
clashes with the soft night
the moonlight on your thigh
a drop of moisture on your lip
I could relax like this
for an eternity
if either of us could stay that long.

Morning light cuts like a knife
through the windowpane
glistening on the bloodstains
seeping into the satin sheets.

"Murder - suicide" read the headlines…
but they didn't know about the tumor
growing in your brain…
or our decision to remain together
for that eternity
forever in the moonlight.

"Born into
these crooked ways.
I never even asked to come,
so now I'm living in the days.
I struggle and fight
to stay alive,
hoping that one day
I earn my chance to die..."
