murmers of a poem
by debab

Mute with pupils dilated in the flitting dark,
on damp cave walls is how I show it.
Drawing with charcoal remnants
barefoot, clad in skin of others.
Lines not new or easily
discerned
I sense the vague ahead
through the fire's flicker or entrails feel.

This poem is the net that breaks my fall,
a comfort zone that says keep flying
don't look down, infinite oceans
may stretch continuous, words
the only instruments to guide.
Painted clowns with silly tricks
grin crookedly as you teeter, toes clutch hard
to slender thread of strength
arm's flail out, balance
don't look down.

Seated cells unfurl slow, golden stamens
dropping sacred dust
I breathe
I leaf
I grow more delicate.

How does a poem
speak you might ask
maybe
imagine a tight
heart's sudden skipping
how footprints press
without a mark in schist
or sodden mud
why love's kiss may miss
or brush soft ankles
when dark oars dropping water,
like several sprinkled stars
breaking into molecules and fling

into a hundred thousand billion
milky ways across this very moment --
this is now
this lovely need

as froggy throats croak to silence
nightly breeze slows to whisper,
stops the ripples
from their watery circles,
what begs to speak, surfaces
exquisite seeds like

faint yearnings
could elicit sprites or mist,
fragrant music seeming
static sprouts at first
blowing in fits and
bursts, disconnect and buzz
then there !
a sudden glowing from within

gray matter's astonishment.

ahh a wonderful choice!!!
Anyone can be passionate, but it takes real lovers to be silly.

Well earned, debab.

And well overdue...
"Born into
these crooked ways.
I never even asked to come,
so now I'm living in the days.
I struggle and fight
to stay alive,
hoping that one day
I earn my chance to die..."
