A Street State of Mind
by ERiN.BuRgEr

But , what is it kid .....???
Why are you so angry , why are you hell bent on self destruction ..???
What is it ....???

Its working for 4.50 an hour
Its the poverty , the fear ,
The lack of power
Its these capitalists pricks and these bloodstained profits,
Its allied bombing raisin terroists.
Its self improvement and Its bullshit ,
Its BMWs , its automotive masturbation,
Its that barrat house mind set,
It'll be the death of our nation .

Its drinking 6 year old creme de menthe cuz its there,
Its top shop clones with bleach blonde hair ,
Its celebrating monday for a reason to get pissed ,
Its talentless wankers ,
Its christian conservative terroists .

Its the urban jungle out there ,
Its sniffing glue,
Its trying get through ,
The pain that this foul felsh is heir to and its insane .

Its this illusion of democracy ,
Its this music that hasnt gotten to be ...
HIP POP
And 50 fake thugs ,
Its stealing cars ,
Its selling drugs,
Its the past and its right behind us.

Its expensive labels , its cheap desingers ,

Its gettin lost asking jack and jim for guidance

Officer , Its not an offensive weapon , Its a golf club,
Its trying to roll up , in a strong wind
Its Carcrash tv, Its notyifing next of kin,
Its street crime uk , were on the front line,
Its smuggled baccy , Its cheap white wine ,
Its green rizla papers filled with heavily cut dope,
Its urban poetry , it losing hope..

Its fag ends.
Its fake freinds.
Its atomic warfare .
And its the end.

Its radiation , its halflife ,
Its slitting ur wrists in the dark with a knife.

Its grey concrete ,
That street state of mind indeed,
Raised on hate , aerosols and speed ,
Its chemicals lies , sworn in white lines , through these bloodshot eyes .

Shit , Mate its attempted suicide .

And he looked at me with those burned out NHS eyes ,
And said U know what..... U might have a fuckin Point

God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.
