By the time we looked up at the
Vividness, I had already slipped
My hand into yours; our fingers
Coalesced, and I, fighting, judged
The reality of the moment:
The park bench didn’t seem sturdy
Enough; the grass felt too crunchy
Underneath our feet; (my hand started
To shake); the smell of lemonade
Began to sting my nose; tiny flies
Dancing, singing, leaving
The loose thoughts of breakage
And untwisted yarn floated between
Us, their single strings tying knots with themselves
The sky was blue, the strings again
Formed one, and simultaneously, you
Turned your head one way, and I turned
The other

Is this poem about an embrace and then a sudden shyness? I'm lovin' it.
