The Return (Part 5)
Now barely could he force his mind to see
A solitary man beside the fire
Whose shadow fell across his memory
Unforgotten in his darkly robed attire.
Remembering the harshness of his tone
Cruel, insulting words, with threatning glances
While mother, by herself there all alone
Confronts him, as slowly he advances
Then just as she attempts to bar his way
Imposing all her power to stand between
Her child, and the man who came that day
The fire erupts around them unforseen
But he escapes the blazing home alarmed
Alone, unfairly blamed, but still unharmed
