Bags Appointed Chief "Harsh Critic" of Poetry Pages

Post by bags123 » Mon Mar 28, 2011 2:13 pm

Please have it noted that I have been just granted new powers which I will wield mercilessly against those who choose to allow me to critique one of their poems. I assure you that any nits I may pick are for your own good. Remember what doesn't kill you makes you a stronger poet. So,....if you're brave
enough to have your poetry torn asunder until it's completely unrecognizeable,... enter it here. Who knows,...I may actually like it,...but I wouldn't hold your breath. :hello:

Ya know,...I was just saying to my wife the other night. This generation is becoming totally polluted by the technology we all increasingly use every day. All they want is attention. "That's OK Tommy,....it doesn't matter that your team lost 37-0,....it's all about the fun!!! Here's an outstanding player trophey for being a "good sport" . Yeah sure. :soapbox: That philosophy seems to be working out real well. I think they should call the under 20 crowd "The Entitled Generation". You can quote me on that. I've got a 21 year old daughter who thinks she's Kim Kardashian. :computer: Media seems so influential expecially to the very young, who have been feed on increasing doses since they were infants. The new status symbol is the latest new cell phone,...which changes weekly. She's on this thing constantly,...either talking, texting, googling, emailing, watching Utube. It's like a wireless personal umbilical cord, that connects you to the net. I hate mine. It's a Droid 2 from Verizon. The other day the screen froze on me for over 3 hours. I couldn't turn it off, or do anything with it. Fortunately,...when the power ran out,...I plugged it back into the recharger,...and it booted up fine again. The sound quality on mine sucks. Weekends,...it left on top of the dresser,...and is rarely used until the proceeding Monday. So,...anyway,....I'm waiting. :computer:

I see no one's still taken me up on my offer. I don't understand. It's free.

Hmm,...I guess everyone is busy watching "Swamp People" on TV, or futzing with their cell phones. :hello:

I've got some new stuff. Perhaps I will let you take a look at some of it.

I have a task for you bagsy... I'm going to start moving pieces of mine that have not received any comments into here for critiquing. That should keep you busy for a while. My only request is no harping on the fact that some of them are not in metered rhyme!
