New Trees for Old Wolves

New Trees for Old Wolves

Gray ghosts
Sheltered descendants
In the dark of shadows
Slowly wind their way down
Abutment’s rocky outcrops
A sense of urgency
Proceeding prevail
Time, is near
Old frail king
Steps aside
The strong younger
Takes the place
Ways of the wild forest
He lays down for his last
Along side the pine saplings
Retreating eyes
Now only, stare

The wheels of time
how ever slow
speeds up

Make the last word "stare" and it's a winner.

Thanks heinzs and jupe, as you may noticed I'd been gone for awhile, I made the change to stare.
