Thirty four years

Thirty Four Years

Thirty four years ago the light
in your brown eyes died
and so did I.

And yet I breathe and weep…
I have not found
all the pieces of my corpse
scattered by the four winds

34 years is a long time,...but not long enough to ever forget some things. Sad, succinct, and well written as usual Heinz. Good to see you're still writing. :computer:

There are some wounds that never heal. Knowing that there are others who care can help. :hearts: for you Mr. Heinzs.

Thank you, LJ! Some things will be carried with us until the end and be cherished the whole time even though they cause us pain.
