Going to the movies

Post by LJAmara » Sat Jul 21, 2012 5:17 am

Allure of the silver screen
Magic of the cinematic muse
Wondrous tales told
In brilliant colors
Infuse our minds with visions

Love tales and silliness
Mystery and horror
Get into the action
Live the adventure
If only for a few short hours

A Dark Knight falls
Wisps of smoke Obscure
The screen, the screams
The villain and Hero
Dance their dance

Cacophony deafening
Burning lead flies
Red pours down the aisle
Seats are stained
By lives that are no more

Going to the movies
To live the vision
To share in the action
No one told us that tonight
It was going to be real

This must have hit you terribly close in your home state, Lisa. The television news cannot depict the unspeakable horror of that event no matter how hard they try.

This happened less than two miles from our house. Yes, you could say it hit hard. Rena tried very hard to talk me into taking her and Sara to see this film. I'm glad I stood my ground, but heartbroken for those who went. There really aren't words suitable for how I feel right now. :crying:

Your poem truly says so much more than just the words within it. Our hearts are with you and the girls. It is a trauma the community will take a long time to "heal" from.

All of our love to you and the girls.

In my mind is etched the picture of the little 6 year old girl that died there. The picture showed her happy and eating an ice cream cone. How traggic to have her young life snatched from her. And I understand her mother is still in critical care and probably does not even know yet, that her daughter is dead. :crying:
