Watching Over Me

~A Tribute to My Grandfather~

You were gone so fast that I didn’t even have time to react
You left an empty hole in my life
I really wish that you would come back

Your body gave out but I know your soul lives on
Your memory gives me comfort and sometimes I can feel you right beside me
You give me courage, you make me strong

I know if you were here
You’d tell me what to do and guide me through
You’d dry my every tear

Now when I look at the sky, I pick out the brightest star
Shining like a beacon, guiding me
And I know your really not that far
