Gordy is a gentle soul who lives in Ohio
Cincinatti born, and bred,... conservative neo
Baseball is his daily bread,... the Reds his holy grail
Despite the faith he's always had,... they seem to always fail
He goes to church each Sunday. Puts money in the pail,
Prays to God next season that at last they might prevail,
but baseball is a worldly sport. God's a Boston fan
His faith's been misdirected, since his God's got other plans
