Blankets nailed over windows,
Keeps the suns smiling light away,
A pale portrait afraid to expose,
A single teardrop to the day.

The children’s laughter draws on curiosity,
Pulls you closer, painfully you strain,
To hear every whisper of generosity,
The power of a smile you can’t contain.

Pull back the blackness, and peek outside,
The sunlight dries the tears upon your cheek,
A smiles spreads into depression denied,
As you realize that laughter is not for the weak.

Rip curtains down, pull blankets away,
Death isn’t coming, not today,
So bathe in the light,
And love,
That will continue to hold you,
Long into the night.
As a Ravyn flies, alongside the Dove.
And together they will ignite,
The Phoenix delight.

Behold a beautiful sight.

You are so sweet, Thief! :) And, might I add, you are an extremely sensitive, thoughtful soul. I've seen you, hither and thither you go, commenting, making people laugh, complimenting, commiserating... You've become one of the hearts of PP. Thank you so much, even for linking my name with Jenn's is an honor, but to call me a Dove who flies with the Ravyn!?   Too cool!! I am honored. I also thank you for taking up my slack, when I all but left PP, trying to become an entity in the poetry world (which I am still working on!), you stayed by Jenn's side, made her smile and laugh, felt her weep and twist in her inner agony, tried to keep her spirit and wits up. You are a remarkable person, another type of 'hero'. :)

This line reigns supreme, such a jewel of thought, it is almost overwhelming in its simplicity...

"As you realize that laughter is not for the weak."

kudos to you for knowing that you were the Dove.. hehe.. and you are too kind.. wasnt me that did all that stuff you mentioned.. someone stole my password, and they always erase my crappy comments before anyone can be offended by them and reply with a smile and a little flair.. maybe thats why those old bell bottoms are walking around my room right now on their own.. and here i thought i just needed to do laundry...

Beautiful poem theif..I read Rayvens story and it broke my heart..
It is so wonderful to see people like yourself who will take time to encourage and be a friend to those in such dire straights.

You're heart is a beautiful one I must say...I've read your heart in several of your poems.

:bump:
I pray your day is filled with sunlight and the warmth it gives.

Reading this really made me miss The Rayven.

Very heartfelt.
Entering the sanctuary of my mind may lead to perils of unknown magnitude.......... hold on and embrace the ride. Feel the tolls as we pass from existance into my sought domain of twisted reality. -negatv: 5/05-

Friends are what help me guide myself through life. I just have to find the right direction first. -negatv- 10/06
