Old and White
Old and White
It's rarely said, but often true
What people think,.. the people do.
Their liberties defined by rights
Controlled by someone old, and white.
For generations too far back
With histories too old to hack
Indignities designed their plight
Controlled by someone old, and white.
But now that they have persevered
With someone only slightly seared
He just may bring the darkness light
Controlled by someone old, and white

Re: Old and White
New ones come
Old and White
is finally done
Someone new
is in the house
With something new
to espouse
But when the day
has lost it's light
We find this new thing
is quite a fright
For when it's finished
we will see
An big old empty
Treasury.....
Old and white
say goodnight
now....
Turn off the light
Hey Baggs -
I'm back
long time
Nicely written
Great presentation
Enjoyable to read
Smiling even as I write this.
It's great to read your poetry again.

Rejoice, for victory comes even as you live
Spread your arms and embrace the future

Re: Old and White
such a fright
Ku Klux Klan
ride tonight
Ride a horse
burn a cross
Show the colored
who's the boss
Bring a gun
a rope for fun
Watch the darkie run
under a southern sun
Old and white,
morally wrong,
legally right
Our Dixie song
means we still fight
We rape and burn
make pickaninnys'
Our laws are stern
they arm hillbillies
Old and white
we're such a sight
We'd rather kill
then do what's right

Re: Old and White
out in the open forum. It's historical view
of an old America now changing contends:
Those changes are just rearranges made to
camouflage the sameness of what the
ages never really change,
"The Power Base."
Political power gathered historically
changes only rhetorically to create a
facade categorically that keeps things
pretty tight, the power in the tower
is always held
by someone
old and white.
"Right? "
The old and white man stands accused
But since his power base has fused
His crimes have been excused
Since they've been diffused
Polished and improved
He'll never be removed
Until he's beat up,
scourged and
bruised!
Well
.
.
The flogging has begun
We will have him on the run
Time to have a little fun
Tar and feather that old bum
And once that deed is done
We can beat a different drum
Now peace and love can be restored
When those old white farts have been gored
And we'll all get our grand reward
If we can only just afford
To build a new accord
Where peace and love
can be explored
And where
everyone
Can be
adored
"V"
When the world has won this fight
A new Utopia will be in sight
Because darkness now is light
The left destroyed the right
We can all now sleep at night
Because power has been taken
From someone old
and white
