THE WINKLE

Post by goldenrod » Thu Jun 21, 2012 7:56 pm

"The Winkle"
(with apologies to Mr Hodgson!)

Twinkle! twinkle! little winkle,
I saw you bat an eye!
Flirting with each handsome oyster,
As it went traipsing by!

What would your boyfriend, the cockle,
Indeed what would he have said?
Would he then start, to flex his mussels,
To kick you out of the oyster'(s)-bed?!

Snails in oysterbeds... there is a carnivorous snail that drills into oysters and eats them. Not a winkle, though.
