Pamela's Irish Bar
Pamela's Irish Bar

It's nine o'clock on a Saturday night,
We're going down to the pub.
From the window's shining warmer light.
The place is filling up.
One of those local folky bands
Is doing a show tonight.
We'll have a few drinks and meet foes and friends,
It's going to be all right!
Where to sip the beer and the great wine
And keep your ear on the grapevine,
People in and past their prime
Are coming from near and far
To where the music is amusing
And the booze it is for boozing.
We're going to have a rattling good time
At Pamela's Irish Bar!
You've had a hard week and you feel you are
In need of winding down -
No better place than Pamela's Bar
You'll find all round the town.
You hear the band, and as they play
Many a well-known song,
You can feel your troubles melt away,
Join in and sing along!
The band has finished playing
And they're packing up their gear,
And the room is slightly swaying
As we finish our last beer.
Some notes they hit, some notes they missed
As they played the whole night long.
It sounds as if we're Brahms and Liszt
As we sing their final song.
