Teddy bears
And chocolate squares
Unnoticed on the bed

The birds concur
The cacti are well-fed

Put down your rifle
Kick off your working shoes

See through the ruse

Let me paint a picture
Of a better life
Red wine and roses
For the man and wife

Where can I go
When the chill returns?
Ice on the windows
Still the fire burns

Two strangers passing
In the darkest night
Maybe for a moment
We can share this twilight

Teddy bears
Displaying their wares
Cross-legged on the bed

You're tired and tussled
I've been out-hustled
Can't get you out of my head.
