She lurks darkly mongst the billows
Breezes light but cold
Awaiting my arrival
My body for to hold
A’fore I come she watches
Eye’s as cold as glass
To see me in my stride a’cummin
Upon the soft dewed grass
She doth come herself from nil
To seek a love so warm
And me I come a look’in fer
A lass to calm me storm
We meet upon the rippled dew
Neath the tree lined path I strolled
She dressed in her shadows dark
Me with my heart of gold
When first we touched I shivered
Her skin was near to ice
When she touched me she breathed a sigh
My warmth to her was nice
And then we kissed
My lips on hers
My breath froze in the air
But a spark of light between us flew
And something happened there
She melted from her freeze
Her shadows fell a’fore me
She were naked to the breeze
I gasped upon her beauty
For a spirit she had been
Now she stood there livin
An angel in the skin
And her love to me was given
Neath the stars and foggy moon
A love forever born
Between a shadow straight from nil
And a lad from Barleycorn
A demon then
An angel now
No longer cold and torn
She came to life
With just a kiss
By a lad from Barleycorn
