Manic Repressive
Tonight she is silent,
she won't say a word.
Last night she flitted,
and sang like a bird.
Tonight she's tired,
she says with a frown.
Last night she turned
my world upside down.
She said she was sorry
in the text that she sent.
But now that she's here,
she will not repent,
nor even acknowledge
the harm that she'd done
nor admit to the lies
that she'd carelessly spun.
How can I handle
such highs and such lows?
Just accept that this
is the way that it goes?
I need a woman
I know I can trust.
Will she be another
I've left in the dust?
