Rolling down the highway,
On the wrong end of the night,
Memories fill the shadows,
Of my love who's not in sight.
Pausing on this flight,
To wonder why I run,
From the one who'd never hurt me,
After all is said and done.
Sun peeks on the horizon,
Over this corner of the world,
Letting my heart see clearly,
What the darkness only shields.
Back out on the highway,
Day chases away the night,
Need the warmth of your embrace,
Where everything feels so right.
Burning up the roadway,
Have to feel you near,
Don't care who gets stepped on,
Our love is intensely clear.
Gonna state my case,
On the merits of forever,
Heart now rules the mind,
Won't let go of this love ever.
Just to feel your love surround me,
An emotion so hard to resist,
Feel you as I get closer,
To your sweet kiss.
Will fix this all right now,
Looking in the eyes I love most,
No pain can get in the way,
Of a forever that was almost lost.
