ractical from some's perspective
and yet
the simplest way of saying it
is throw away others opinions
and find your own way of looking at things
it matters not what others think
they are always biased in their own views
afraid to look at things
from a different perspective
afraid to walk in others shoes
to see what others see
seeing things out of the box per se
and don't want to get out of their comfort zone
that they've lived in all of their lives
so they close doors
and possibilities
that were once open to them
windows of opportunity
provided by circumstance
and wonder why
life passed them by

reasons set aside
although it's not know why
but it doesn't matter
paths in life
sometimes take different routes
at the same time
get to the same destination
so let things slide
and find your own prerogative
no use in
dwelling in the negative
life it too short
so you keep on
keeping on

lying within those times
where memories rise
within those clouds
of apathy
where too many forget
the kindness that's needed
within this world of complaints
too much chattering
and not enough acceptance
of people
simply as they are
some need to find that friendly shade
with an open heart
and forget the bickering
that takes place too many times
reach within those smiles
you never know
what a kind word
might mean to someone
who needs it most

clear moon rises
reaching within the echo
of those tides
finding the ocean
where influences stride
in the intense movement
converging in that connection of life
voyages celebrated in the infinite
where brilliance finds what it needs
balance nurtured in the silence

zigzag within that rhythm
serenading those lost harmonies
forever faded in intricacies
note by note
yet forgotten within the past
where that lyrical moment
somehow is lost
within the echo
circle after circle
composed within a simple suite

summer finds that moment
when the warmth returns
leaving behind the rains
where seasons touch
in their coming and going
yet in those horizons
a minute is found in the sun

finding that whisper
which calls you
that voice within
that dialect
which speaks
within those dreams
reaching in realms
where an inkling of hope
defines your perceptions
those milestones
etched within your mind
where yourself is inspired
and reach those reasons
within those contemplations

matted within the grey
where the clouds find
that breath of time
celebrated in a moment
collections of images
where spirits rise
in that balance
that's felt
within this universe
relative in that conscience
horizons found
in dawn

those blades of grass
within the woods
that you just walked
where pools flow
nearby within lost creek
and if you listen
you'll find the spirit
that abounds
as it whispers

sit awhile
memories abide in those times
where the heart
find those simple joys
in life
too few in the short moments
we have within this world
but we must make the most of them
and find our own peace

that rise into yesterdays
luminary moments
that find its own space
cries that defies
its own silence
moments held
only for a second
and then gone
but in that breath
something is remembered
exactly what
is found in the journey

some things are going to fall through the cracks
whether we want them to
or not
it's simply life
as we know it
so we move on
and improve what we can
when we can't
we learn to let go
logic applies
sentiment doesn't
even though our heart doesn't want to
but when we don't
we get lost
within the self doubt
and become trapped in the past
unable to move
to where we should
and the consequences come to bear

within those whispers
that grab the soul
leaving you
breathless
and you don't know why
you scratch your head
trying to figure it out
yet the answers aren't there
confusion falls on your face
but that's the finality of love
it does what you least expect
and throws you for a loop
then laughs at you
for being the fool

those old black and white films
that reach way back
days of Greta Garbo and the like
where memories are romanticized
within a certain magic
whispers of that style
that's lost today
if you listen
you might hear Humphrey Bogart's laughter
those ghosts of those
who pioneered a lost art
of that time long past
yet fondly remembered

laughter within
that echo
which reaches that certain something
that resides in all of us
a spirit which sings
and brings the child
out of us
in which we forget
due to our older selves
those whispers
that call and say
*let's go out and have some fun*
we'll howl at the moon
and let our hair down
yes... it's that time

with waves of water
rising with the tide
where the warmth has risen
in that moment
where one has walked
those roads this world has given
welcome to Timaru
and find your own memories
that lie just beyond the sunrise
