that touch in the clouds
for what reason?
who knows
life happens
another years passes by
and one's hair gets greyer
life's lessons
stands
whether we choose
to learn from it or not
and with that
the consequences arrive

reaching those times
that somehow found
a clarity
the reasons are my own
and yet if asked
I'll try to tell the truth
regardless of the consequences
but somehow that's
simply who I am
some see that
some don't
some want keep you at a distance
to me
that's their loss
I can't change
me being me

in those backwaters of yesterday
sunsets find certain horizons
winds bring a breeze
that touches
cool memories
that rise into that gentle surf
and one smiles
somehow finding that completion
deep undertows
that reach within those answers
that somehow are never answered
yet the adventure
is still ahead
all one has to do
is open their eyes
look forward
and find what they can

clouds feathered within the sky
where it seems
you can see
the winged horses
racing within the horizon
just to meet the sunset
tideswept memories
smiling into the day
tapestries of blue
deep whispers
gathering into
time itself
drenched within the open
where a simple song is found

dry canyons
red sand stone
where ancient natives
once lived
green rivers
that travel west
to the pacific
deserts that mire into the sunset
horizons that touch within the twilight
and if you listen
you might hear the drumbeats
of those who once lived
within the ancient

two million years
where oceans once lay
dinosaurs walked and flew the sky
some swam in that water
now all that's left
in their prehistoric remains
tracks in the stone
eons touch in what was
now somehow
time moves on

in the dawn of time
the stars find a point of reference
celebrated by the celestial
blue brightness
held in a whisper
that slender moment
where the heavens smile
and nothing was the same again

smooth water dreams
where the cool finds that niche
memories celebrate
within time held
and somehow the reflection
sparks what's needed
rain falls
within the cool pools
and the earth's thirst is quenched
cleansing the dust
within the air
somehow nature
always finds what it needs

to touch within the heart
reaching through those echoes
held within that loving cup
where we see
what we see
in memories

shall we keep that ballad
rhythms set within harmony
lyrics sung so sweetly
yet in the distance
celebrations of the heart
as we touch in that open invitation

echoes me with the night
languages drawn
from moment to moment
where we complete each other

tomorrows found
yet that future is not quite known

but it doesn't matter
only the paradise
that we have today

that reside within the heart
listen to those echoes
that whisper truth
which matters
yet find the honor
in the path that you travel
reach your hand in friendship
to those that you meet
and given in time
may find a simple wisdom
that you may pass to all

I'm not the jackass whisperer?
you mean not reminding
Fox news believers
that it's not fake news?
or listening to Bill O'Reilly...Shawn Hannity
or other blithering idiots there
that think their opinions are not facts?
that kissing the NRA ass
won't save American lives
regardless of their faith
that if you take away military weapons
meant for war
that it won't negate the 6th amendment?
what?
some actually do think for themselves
that listen to Donald Trump
as their next savior?
that democratic socialism is not communism
instead it's capitalism with restraints
and that this country was made
from the blood of immigrants
that flow into it
that whatever your skin color
we are all brothers and sisters
that whatever faith you have
love is what matters most
hmmmm...
something to think about

well here I am blathering about politics
when people don't care to listen
I know
it's a boring subject
for some who don't like being informed
but you can't do anything about it
you'd be surprised what a vote could do
in the right place and the right time
my vote doesn't matter
with your vote
my vote
the neighbors vote
and the votes that follow
a wave of votes can change the tide
and get things done
that need to be
but you have to vote to do so
money is the only thing that matters
in our politics
really?
we need to change that
and get money out of politics
how?
by bringing in progressive ways of thinking
and ridding ourselves of lifelong politicians who
span into their 80's and 90's
and get some new blood and new thinking
back to those who want to serve the public
instead of those who make money
being bought off

reach into those places that matter
find the smile
to keep in your heart
find the laughter
in life
seek that sunshine
which brightens
don't settle
for second best
sing that song
that makes you smile
and find that path
that you need

grey weather
has set in again
time for Spring
and the rainy weather
to go else where
yea I'm looking
for the sunshine
and the warmth to return
too much grey
has prevailed lately
I'm tired of being inside all the time
yea cabin fever
has me by the shirt tail
but I'll survive
still I'm waiting
for the sunshine
