with an angel in sight

yet the echo found its way

on a distant shore

and I hear its calling

oh so clearly

but I can't find my way to it

even though that need is there

simply in its undertaking

but the how hasn't been found

I keep looking

but answers keep slipping by

leaving me questioning why

yes I hear those echoes

and the reasoning

escapes

like a tune in the distance

telling me

here I am

try to find me

something awoken inside of me

that I haven't felt in years

eyes that touch my heart

emotion that reveals that

I'm alive

a warmth deep

that won't let go

a hunger within that need

that can't be denied

I hear a voice

sweet as a songbird

and I can't walk away

dreams in the night

that somehow touch my soul

where are you?

Here I am

feeling that want in your eyes

needing the warmth of your touch

yet we're apart

time is not kind

why?

because you're on my mind

those hopes that we find

become what we need

moments touch within those seconds

all I want is you

shadows arrive beyond the sun

yet those feelings won't abide

look in my eyes

and tell me what you see

don't you feel that need

where we're together

we call that lapse in time

our hands as one

as those sweet dreams are kept

within the day

I hear those rhythms

that touch life itself

those beats from the heart of nature

that natural flow

some simply take for granted

all on has to do

is listen

it's a song that's alive and vibrant

a harmony that finds its own place

take a walk some time

with a complete open mind

let the world

sing to you

with her own style

find what she sings

red iron fox

bushy tailed

showing nature

within its glory

bright eyed with the dawn

over the creek and brush

reaching to survive

voices heard loud and clear

yips sharp in its echo

woven within the tone

dark tans in the sand

shadows held in that

inkling of hope

yearning for that moment

held introspectively

explorations touch in that

window of time

scattered within milestones

consecrated languages

where pages find their meanings

stargazing beyond the darkness

abstracts in the wind

punctuated in the blink of an eye

yet leaves one guessing

what is meant

vibrations reach in the waves

rescued behind the sagebrush

cirrus greys in the sky

where if one listens

whispers tell those secrets

where breaths reach

within perceptions

those mists reveal shadows

phrases not yet told

ready to rain again

in that east Texas town

where the summer has just begun,

pages written

into the next year

and yet the green smiles

within the season,

humidity rises

into the day

clouds float finding their pattern

punctuated in that flicker

beneath that grey

mother nature sings a simple tune

reaching for those times

held in the past

memories falling by the wayside

yet held onto gently

drinking into the water

where perceptions find that need

contemplations made in images

concrete within that knowing care

expressions wrapped in innocence

reflections in yesterday

[carndo]

reflections of the past

reaching for that sunshine

of moments gone

yet remembering good times

but one moves on

as well as life

still those roads continue

and here I am

waiting for the clouds to pass

why?

still figuring that out

Cataracts Flow

within those rapids

that I'd watch from the Colorado

red river flows

filled with clay

as it trickles down from the creeks

that are full from the previous nights rain

and somehow it enriches

the life that it gives

sometimes quenching the thirst

from those that come in

from the surrounding desert

allowing life to continue

another day without you in my arms

and we both wonder when that day will be

we count the days until then

meanwhile the moment moves on

as our imagination plays it out

why?

life has a way of changing things

even when we don't want them to

but what can one do?

accept that patience

when it's meant to be

it will happen

just have to have the faith

reaching in those times

held breathless

laying in those youthful transformations

raw in that nature

yet sometimes

it's just that

a simple reflection

an alternative

within its own making

but then it's an echo

a perspective held in its own shimmer

breaking from those chains

never mind the shadows

they hold on to jeers

those whispers that matter not

find the silence

that completes one

the sunshine that one needs

the hope within the dark

those backwaters

that touch within the water

surf's up

rising in the tide

where the riptide of life

carries one into new places

unexplored

yet it's those places

that allows one to dream

within that thick imagination

make one savor the unknown

teardrops within the undertow

horizons in the edge of time
