In That Dream

Post by carndo » Tue Jul 16, 2019 11:43 am

mirages found
just when you thought you seen everything
and yet...
it was in plain sight
dark waters
rise within that perception
reflections mired
into the shadows
abstractions lost within the flicker
beneath those incandescent wings
unfettered in that dream

Return Within The Sun

Post by carndo » Tue Jul 23, 2019 8:54 am

return within the sun
those answers
somehow never found
yet were you really
looking for them?
or were they just reflections
lost within the mirrors
unsatisfied emotions
conflicted within the past
explorations with ambitions
perspectives inspired
in contemplations
simply scattered
defined within the milestone
of that unfettered hope

Refractions

Post by carndo » Thu Jul 25, 2019 9:21 am

here you are
racing in the rain
memories
of once
finding that joy
where smiles of a child
finds a certain laughter
a pure innocence
that touches one
to the very core

you call up the moon
within that threshold
luminescent
of the light

that refraction
stardust
within the universe
an afterglow
inspired by one

Silhouettes

Post by carndo » Thu Jul 25, 2019 9:45 am

rhythms
flowing within the mind
horizons
that touch of twilight
perceptions
within the shades
of grey
yet...
in those silhouettes
something appears within the shadows
exactly what
is simply unknown
that dichotomy within the silence
windswept heights
reaching out in the distance
unseen ghosts
haunt the hallways

Spirits Will Speak

Post by carndo » Mon Jul 29, 2019 4:30 pm

if you listen
ancient spirits will speak
telling those legends of the past
whispering secrets of nature
within the bedrock
those red canyons
that were ancient shores once
if you look closely
you can see tracks in the stone
and the remains of ancient forests
maybe a skeleton of creatures
that once roamed
bruised trails amongst a crescent horizon
cliff villages
whose houses of stone
whisper...
do you remember who we were?

Winter Wonder

Post by carndo » Mon Jul 29, 2019 4:33 pm

that south winter wonder
clouds seen in the distance
wind spirits rise in the horizon
and yet you can hear jack frost's laughter
ice cycles cut like daggers
on the wooden fences
across the pastures
the oak patch
starts the woods
on the north side
the mule deer grazing on what they can
a jack rabbit flicking his ears near by
prickly pear cactus with snow covering the edge
carefree squirrels chattering on the aspens
pathways among the cottonwoods
which overhang
the nearby stream
ice covers the shallow pools
and if you listen
you can hear the river otters chatter amongst themselves
looking for a fish
and there mother nature is whistling
while she spreads her own touch

Old Silver

Post by carndo » Mon Jul 29, 2019 4:35 pm

old silver
coming home sometimes clawed through the ears
because of some local fight he got into
typical of a manx
who won't put up with anyone's stubbornness
but then most males are territorial
although when he's around me
he's full of purrs
wanting to be scratched behind the ears
or meows
insisting to be fed
but what cat doesn't?
I come home
and he's waiting on the porch
telling me..
where have you been?
finally you're here
yes..
I'm starving

Train Whistles

Post by carndo » Wed Jul 31, 2019 3:24 pm

train whistles on its midnight run
and I'm woke up wondering
can that damn conductor
quit blowing that whistle?
I know it's part of his job
but if I don't get some sleep
I'm going to be deadheaded in the morning
but life isn't always fair is it?
and here I am holding the bag
while the world has left me behind
yet somehow I continue

A Smile Of Nature

Post by carndo » Wed Jul 31, 2019 3:28 pm

dark canyons
rise within those shadows
that whisper
come explore me
pines that stretch into the light
streams that sparkle into the shallow pools
were occasionally a trout jumps for a grasshopper
rock ledges that rise into the hillside
beaver swimming as they gather branches for their dam
deer taking a sip of water
to quench their thirst
a patch of cactus
just ready to bloom
and the scent of blossoms
among the breeze
where a smile of nature
reveals its beauty

Finding That Grit

Post by carndo » Thu Aug 01, 2019 6:06 pm

mysteries at daybreak
horizons touch within the sunset
yet the journey has just begun
roadways yet walked
but in that path
adventure awaits around the next turn
all one has to do
is find it
funny how life finds
what one needs
the trick is...
is seeing it
and when you do see it
doing something about it
finding that grit
to see it through

Your Own Past

Post by carndo » Thu Aug 08, 2019 9:56 pm

invitations risen
into a primus unwritten
to what purpose?
one hasn't said
and yet...
who can tell the future?
compromises
yet made
but if you think about it
who wants the future at hand?
better to live it
moment by moment
work at it
and earn your own past
