Quietude. 2011-02-24
Silence descends with the twilight.
Across the open countryside.
The still quietness will abide.
Until the rising sun brings light.
When chanticleer salutes the dawn
and carries out his morning rite
His hymn of thanks for the daylight.
It is for this that he was born.
The waking world is full of sound
and will be til the sleepy calls
of roosting birds as darkness falls.
Bar for the hunters of the night.
Who revel in the lack of light.

Re: Quietude 2011
The sounds of the day winding down are pleasant and relaxing, as it should be. The sparrows' last song at the seed trough, the hens clucking their chicks to the roost, Bessie's gentle low to her calf... winding down. Once darkness arrives it is a different story.
An' it harm none, do what ye will. Blessed Be.
