Sexist language
in our bibles
on our tongues
in ourselves
prejudged
and foreordained
"we've always done it this way"
predestined for destruction
a holy wind is blowing
overturning tables
overthrowing conventions
challenging assumptions
"do not call unclean
what God has made clean;
welcome each other
as Christ welcomed you"
chapter and verse
but who cares?
at the end of the day
love for the least is all that matters
they use to drown
fellow believers
for daring to conform to Christ
"thrice-baptized" the taunt
now we kill one another
with condescension
with contempt and callousness
drowning in a sea of abundance
"love one another as I have loved you"
I don't see an exception clause
for my homosexual brother in Christ
or for my legally married lesbian sister
that God has such faith
in human beings is amazing
we are dogs at the Master's table, yes
and from his kindness we find sustenance
he was unambiguously human
he was envied and despised
for his appeal to the unworthy masses
he is the Son of Spirit in flesh
calling us out of our slumber
awakening our senses
removing the heart of stone
a holy wind is blowing.

Re: Windswept
Thank you, audiofool, for sharing this with us.
For us, "who are flesh dwelling sinners,"
can and should learn that
Jesus loved all, not just some.

Death will be your final victory over life
Rejoice, for victory comes even as you live
Spread your arms and embrace the future
