The Scents Of God

Earth is saturated
With the scents of God.
From fragrant flowers,
To grass and sod.

Some smells are pleasant,
And some are not.
Some fresh and sweet smelling,
Yet some smell of rot.

All here for a meaning,
Given by God.
All here for exploring,
On this earth that we trod.

The scents in my day,
I'm now more aware.
They remind me of God,
His presence, His fragrance,
His all, everywhere!

Thanks, Heinz! Happy Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving was not even on my mind when I wrote that piece. But you connecting it to that holiday was so appropriate. The scents of the Seasons would make a nice poem, too, I guess. Because God is in them. And the aromas He has added for our pleasure is impossible to imitate.

Thank you Gordy. Your approval means a lot to me. I may add a stanza after I read what Heinzs had to say. I was focusing on nature and completely forgot about the smells of food that God includes for our pleasure and that add so much to enrich our lives. Happy Thanksgiving!
