Right Hand Man

Post by audiofool » Wed Sep 11, 2013 5:27 pm

I asked my father figure
Would he care to drop a line
He dropped the mother lode
Landing on old Psalm Forty Nine

It seems he got us pegged
Got it all nailed down
Had to pay a king's ransom
Even wore a thorny crown

He descended to the depths
Of agony and despair
It was not in the plan
To leave his body lying there

Not the least impressed
By stature or flattering lips
Love beyond compare
Flowing from his fingertips

Of deceit and treachery
He needed no instruction
The body of sin we're in
Bound for utter destruction

Speaking truth to power
And grace to the weak
He bore every burden
And turned the other cheek

At the right hand
Of justice, mercy, and might
He intercedes for sinners
And shines eternal light

The rich man may boast
The wise will inquire
The poor possess the kingdom
The flesh it feeds the fire.
