To God,
Is something I do,
Before writing a poem
And later, sharing it with you.
Inspiring thoughts
And ideas, He puts in my head.
Then I fill in the words
And by Him I am led.
He delights
In waking me at night,
Or, when I'm going out the door,
With ideas for another poem,
Or, just the right word
I was searching for.
And close
To you, too,
God is always near,
Sometimes you'll catch Him,
Whispering in your ear.
Even when
You bow and pray,
As you listen,
And quiet your mind,
You'll hear what He has to say.
I believe
Whatever you are dwelling on,
He'll give you what you need.
If you listen quietly,
Your soul, God will fill and feed.
