It was at the farthest rise
Of a green grassy and weedy hill
That the sea of blue-green glass caught my eyes,
Hypnotizing me with its motion so still…
Leaving me lost in my own vertigo, making me ill.
I shook my head to find that my view
Had changed and now my horizon was filled
With a grey expanse of white tipped hills.
Waving at me, for me, with me as I rocked on my heals.
But I was not to be fooled by this sight,
As I grabbed the table top and swallowed the pill,
Nursing the hangover from the previous night.
The boat of my bed pulled me back,
And sleep overtook me as I hit the sack.
