I Took a Walk (Italian Sonnet)

Post by Tom Watson » Sun Oct 05, 2008 12:41 pm

I took a walk one sunny day
While the birds sang melodies,
And the pond frogs croaked symphonies.
Over the wooded trails I made my way.
I climbed trees of wood, hills of clay;
Ran from a busy hive of bees;
Tripped on my way up, skinning my knees.
When my walked ended, I stopped to pray.

I wanted to thank Him for the skies,
Clear or speckled with occasional cloud;
For the music of the world, never too loud.
I wanted to glorify Him for the wonders before my eyes,
For His ever loving grace that allowed
Me to bask in His care, during these, the last of my days.
