I LOVE YOU

Post by Tom Watson » Fri Aug 08, 2008 12:54 pm

I saw the clouds,
Big, black and grey
Rolling about themselves,
Darkening the day
And within glowing flashes of light
Of a burning red and blinding white
And then the thunder
Pounded upon my mind
With a voice shouting across the sky
“Oh children of mine what have you done?!
Oh most favored do you know
What you have undone!
Of all that I gave,
And the only thing I denied,
You chose the wrong and
Then to Me you lied!”

Looking about I saw grounds of rock and soil,
And knew to survive
I would forever toil…

And the bulbous clouds moved slowly on
Leaving a soft gentle breeze
Beneath a new sun
As the rumble disappeared,
A soft whisper came through…

“I love you”

Time moved on and again
The rumbling returned
With blacker and heavier clouds,
The insides seemed to burn
Inside with lightening now seen
Chasing angrily inside,
And the thunder pounded my body,
Knocking me aside,
Louder and louder it tore into the night,
And then a booming voice
Forced me to my knees in fright:
“Oh children of mine, is it not enough that you live?
Oh chosen people what more must I give?
Is not your freedom, your lands, health
And My grace when in need
Enough?! No, you turn to foreign gods,
And I am blasphemed!”

Then I saw the waters rising
From the grounds, falling from the sky
And an ark holding the only faithful
And animals that would not die…

The thunder roared out
One more time and moved heavily on,
Leaving a soft gentle breeze beneath a new sun,
And as the rumble disappeared,
A soft whisper came through…

“I love you”

Then more time, more forgetting, more denying
Passed on and built up and settled in,
And once more, in the distance
Dark clouds gathered together, but more thin
And the thunder was not of power and anger as before,
But came from a sad tired groaning rumble,
Like from a soul, pained and sore.
And the lightening, unlike last seen,
Had become a glow of soft purples and blues…
Yet when the voice spoke it was firm,
Not booming, and I knew
A decision was made and a final chance
Was to be given by His steady voice:
“Oh children of mine,
With your penchant for bad choices.
Oh creations of hope and dreams
And the ability to choose,
I have decided to offer you
One last chance to win or lose…

I am coming down to you
As my only Son from Heaven high
He will grow as a man
And be filled with my Spirit to try
To teach you how to
Love one another, to live moral lives
He will cure the ill,
Give sight to the blind,
Return the dead to life…
And though he does all these things in My name,
You will steal His breath,
And tear His body, crucified on a cross,
And His body will die... and defeat death.
He will return after three days asleep
With His covenant to keep

To offer to all people who
Would accept Him as truly God’s Son
A new hope, a new life and a place
With him when their mortal lives are done…”

Then a soft wind scattered
The now white clouds
Beneath a bright Son
Shining down
And from His outstretched hands,
The air moved through,

Whispering
“I Love You”

I remember reading this poem before, or shall I say Exodus, and was touched by it then as I am today..how God has given so many chances for His children to turn to Him whole heartedly, and they still wouldn't listen and then He sent His only begotten Son Jesus to rescue all once again...Oh how He loves us so...

Thank you for sharing this Holy Spirit inspired write with all of us..
you are a blessing to all especially the body of Chirst who can appreciate the indepth meaning of this rich writing...

Bless you dear brother....bless you.. :thewave:  :hello:
